About This Area of Work

Vanalok Foundation recognizes water as the foundation of ecological health and community well-being. The Foundation's water resource management work spans sustainability impact assessments, ecological planning for lake biodiversity parks, interpretation centre design, and educational outreach at urban waterbodies.

Collaborating with BBMP, Oasis Foundation, Manuvikasa, and other partners, Vanalok has contributed to the revival of several important urban and peri-urban lakes in Bengaluru โ€” from Puttenahalli and Madiwala to Agara and Sheshagirihalli.

The Foundation's work integrates ecology, aesthetics, community engagement, and interpretation โ€” ensuring that restored lakes become vibrant civic spaces as well as biodiversity hotspots.
